team

When choosing a financial advisor, it is important to consider selecting an advisor that has the resources to answer all of your income tax, estate tax, trust and legacy questions. Bring together a team of three experts: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Financial Advisor (Investment Advisor Representative – IAR), and an Estate Planning Attorney (EPA).

By putting your financial team of experts in the same room, you’ll make them work together for your benefit by authorizing them to disclose information to one another on a real-time basis. They should all know what you have, where it’s located, how it’s being used, how it’s help, and where it’s going when you die.

Typically, you can get to the other two through the one relationship that you may have. For instance, if you have a CPA, ask for referrals to an IAR and EPA. In the end, make sure that your financial team is working for you by putting your personal situation and goals ahead of their own.
